I usually try to find something we both like and work from there, and remember, the other person may also be nervous

Hey true, I've been wondering that exact same thing. In fact, I was like just going to ask that. Anyway, I have found that Susanne's advice is definitely working for me.

Lets give you some advice here.

First of all this is part of self recognition. One must be able to know themselves fully and be egoistic about it to not fall back in to a lack of confidence. You must recognize who you are by identifying values and preferences. After that, you should gain some confidence. It's best to be even more confident if you are around people who except you for who you are.
